An Intimate Forum for EdTech CEO’s and Presidents to Engage in Authentic Dialogue About the Approaches and Resources Necessary to Lead Successfully
June 7-9, 2027 at Red Ledges Premier Private Community (Heber City, UT)
Being a President or CEO can be exhilarating and rewarding. It’s also frustrating, exhausting and lonely. Wheelan Advisory Group is proud to announce the 2nd annual invite-only “CEOs Unplugged” Leadership Retreat, a two day workshop exclusively designed to enable Presidents and CEOs who lead mission-driven, technology-enabled companies in the education sector to “unplug” and authentically connect with others who are navigating a similar journey.
Led by Pete Wheelan, a 25 year veteran of C-Suite and Board roles and Founder CEO of Wheelan Advisory Group, this highly interactive experience will provide an intimate (no more than 12 attendees), relaxed and confidential forum for EdTech leaders to meet peers and engage in unfiltered discussion about the challenges they face, while exploring valuable tools and approaches for succeeding in an increasingly uncertain and difficult operating environment.
Pete will be joined by two top-notch coaching professionals to ensure an experience infused with decades of coaching and leadership experience:
Jeremy Glauser is a CEO Coach whose practice is centered on helping purpose-driven CEOs live better lives and build better businesses. His work is informed by his own decades of experience as a CEO, including as Founder CEO of eLuma, a pioneering platform delivering teletherapy and mental health services to K-12. Jeremy is a nationally board certified health and wellness coach (NBC-HWC), advisor to the Kennedy Forum’s youth mental health advocacy, youth mental and behavioral health investor and philanthropist, and he has received recognition as a 40 Under 40 honoree and Entrepreneur of the Year finalist.
Justin Self is an Executive Coach with the Wheelan Advisory Group whose passion is helping high-performing, purpose driven teams become more cohesive and strategically aligned by identifying practical and relevant solutions to the deep-rooted challenges holding them back. Along with more than a decade of his own leadership experience, Justin brings to his work extensive training and credentials from Patrick Lencioni’s acclaimed suite of organizational health tools, including The Advantage and The Five Dysfunctions of a Team. In 2020, he was a founding member of the Table Group’s “CAPA Pro” consultants and practitioners alliance, trained under Lencioni and was designated just one of 10 Master Facilitators in North America in how to deliver the highly acclaimed Working Genius Model.

“The sessions, content, and engagement amongst other CEOs through Wheelan Group’s facilitation left me with clear guidance and practices I can implement to tune up myself and the organization I’m leading.”
– Samyr Qureshi, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Knack
“CEO Unplugged exceeded my expectations. The location was amazing, the sessions were engaging and insightful, and the focus on leadership, health, and wellness provided a much-needed opportunity to reflect and recharge.
The greatest value, however, came from the people. Building relationships with other CEOs, sharing challenges, and learning from their experiences gave me new perspectives and practical ideas that I can immediately put into action. I left energized, inspired, and with a clear path for continued personal and professional growth.”
– Sean Lockwood, CEO of BW Walch
“Well worth the investment- great opportunity to step back, reflect, and connect with fellow leaders.”
– Keri Hoyt, President of Noodle Partners
When I first signed up for the retreat, I was in the middle of some major potential life shifts in my company. So I wasn’t sure how the things I was going through might fit in the overall development of the retreat. What I received from a combination of the leaders and other experienced founders was a level of support, expertise, advise and guidance that I didn’t know I needed. This gave me a sense of focus on what I needed to accomplish next and how. I’m still going through the transition so the future is unwritten, but I do believe that I was meant to have that rest stop in my journey before accomplishing what comes next, and I’m deeply grateful to have participated in the opportunity.
– Melvin Hines, Co-Founder and CEO of Upswing
“CEO’s Unplugged delivered on its promise in every way. The content helped refine my approach to leadership and organize my thinking, which quickly translated to action. The camaraderie of working alongside peers normalized the journey and established a foundation for new relationships. The beautiful environment stimulated quiet reflection and a heightened commitment to personal wellness.”
– Chris Motley, Founder and CEO of MentorSpaces
“CEO Unplugged was genuinely worth the time away, which is the best compliment a leader can give considering how many demands are placed on us. What made the retreat most valuable for me was the people in the room—being able to step back with a group of peers, each dealing with similar pressures, and talk openly about both personal growth and organizational challenges. That kind of honest conversation is rare and restorative. The content was very relevant to what CEOs are actually grappling with, and a beautiful setting with wonderful food didn’t hurt either. This is an experience I recommend to any CEO looking for connection, perspective, and a bit of space to breathe.”
– Andrea Lovenhill, CEO at Committee for Children
“Among all the different retreats and accelerators that I’ve participated in, this experience stands apart. Everything was curated and intentional.
I enjoyed talking with members of the cohort who came from all different stages and sub sectors within education; it really felt like a cohort of peers who understood what it’s like to be a CEO in an education company. The coaches did a great job with both depth and breadth of content, and the logistics were very well done.
It was a great opportunity to step out of the day to day, and be unplugged in the beautiful mountains of Utah. I felt like I came back energized and with a clear head, a great new network of peers, and strategies to use. I recommend it for leaders at any stage. I think there is something for everyone.”
– Seth Killian, Co-Founder and CEO at Lingco
“I participated in the CEO Unplugged workshop with nine other EdTech leaders in 2026. This was the first time Pete, Jeremy, and Justin offered the workshop, and I’m really glad I attended. These three coaches complement each other beautifully, bringing their unique perspectives and interests on how to be an effective leader in a sustainable, joyful manner. I liked the emphasis on CEO well-being and the introduction of several frameworks for team performance. The red rock setting and the morning yoga, golf, and walks were all stunning. Pete and team fostered a fun & open environment and they encouraged us to be honest and vulnerable and discuss pertinent top-of-mind issues. We also did a “core values” exercise, which served as a good foundation. A great workshop to reflect on one’s life and career, connect with fellow CEOs, and discuss practical approaches to the issues many of us share.”
– Smita Bakshi, Co-Founder of Flying Penguins
