We bring decades of both operating and client engagement experience, alongside well-honed tools and frameworks for leadership success and organizational health. And while we benefit from the pattern recognition of having worked with dozens of clients who are traveling similar journeys, we nonetheless tailor every engagement and conversation to the unique needs of our clients.
Meet the people who you will be working with….
Pete Wheelan, Founder & CEO
Pete founded Wheelan Advisory Group in 2021 based on what he wished he’d had during his 25 year operating career in COO, CEO and Executive Chairman roles – a trusted confidante and thought partner who could provide guidance as a high-quality Executive Coach, an experienced mentor, AND a well-networked industry expert. He lived the start-up to grown-up transition from the inside as an executive six times, and has worked with well over a hundred education technology CEOs through his 1:1 Executive Coaching and leadership workshops.
Pete holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College, an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, a J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law and a variety of certifications related to leadership and organizational health. He is based in Park City, Utah.
Justin Self, Executive Coach
Justin first joined Wheelan Advisory Group in 2024 to support the delivery of half and full day leadership workshops based on his extensive training and credentials from Patrick Lencioni’s acclaimed suite of organizational health tools, including the The Advantage and the The Five Dysfunctions of a Team.
Justin now anchors the firm’s work in providing Executive Coaching to the direct reports of client CEOs, as well as delivering leadership team workshops to help shape cohesive teams that are best-in-class in healthy conflict, strategic clarity, effective decision making and cascading communication. Justin has a Bachelors in Economics and International Relations from Cal State University – Chico, and lives in El Dorado Hills, CA.
Kyle Wheelan, Associate
Kyle Wheelan is the Event Manager for CEO’s Unplugged, where he oversees every detail of the event to create a space for CEOs to step away, connect, and enjoy one another’s company. He is currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration at Chapman University, with an emphasis in Finance and a minor in Leadership Studies. He hopes to build on this academic foundation and hands-on experience to pursue a career in finance and grow into a role leading teams of his own.
